I am in the process of setting my new Hoyt Katera up and am planning on shooting the FOBs. I havent got my new arrows yet though. So now Im just setting this thing up. I have my rest off my previous bow Does anyone know if the APA Ultimate Twister will work with the FOBS???...It looks like the clearance will be there but since I havent ever shot them I really dont know.

I've never tried APA rests. But they all look like they will grab Fobs. maybe someone else can Comment on those rests.

if I were you I'd contact APA Innovations at 1-866-353-7378. Ask for a Bow tech. and ask if their Rests are compatable with Starrflight fobs. If he's not sure what Fobs are, give him the website. www.starrflight.com

I used to make and assemble the APA ultimate arrowrest, including the twister. These rests were designed to be used with an arrow with standard fletches. I've been out of the archery game for a LONG time now, I've seen the twister work and there was plenty of clearance for the fletches to pass through when it had "opened up" as for these fobs i'd try to put a fob through the twister manually first. I don't want to see anyone trying to put a fob through at full speed. Twister should have enough clearance to accomodate a fob. and If not Call Al at APA Archery in Biggar and suggest he make a rest to accomodate a fob, Al is a very smart guy and would probably love to step up to a new challenge. You all saw the number posted above,

I'll give the APA Twister a try on Saturday morning and get back to you fine folks.  I have that very rest doing nothing in the shop, I'll put it on and try it.  Will report back with the findings Smiley  Stay tuned..

Well, today was the day I decided to test out APA's Ultimate Twister arrow rest and FOB's.  I took the wife's bow ( of course not mine ) .....  Grin and set up the APA UT arrow rest on it.  Sylvie is shooting APA's King Cobra set at 52#, her arrow length is 27.5 inches, carbon express Maxima hunter arrows.

After setting the rest on the bow, I set the arrow at 90 degrees witht he string using Kenny's proven " Eye Level " and checked it with small square and every thing looked great, I then lined up the arrow with the string and the alignment was also looking good.

Now the FOB Test:

The clearance on all sides of the APA rest aperature was 3/16" - GREAT !!!!  Bangin

I too the bow outside and Sylvie shot her first trial shot, everything went well, there was no contact on the rest and Sylvie's arrows were flying true.

The rest did what it was supposed to do.

There you go, another drop away rest we can add to the list of rests capable of shooting FOB's.

So today, I tried the APA Ultimate Twister arrow rest on my 80# bow -

DISASTER !!!!!!!!!!  It does NOT WORK !!!!!  FOBS are shattering in pieces !!!

I can only assume the extra bow weight doesn't allow for the arrow rest to completely lower allowing the FOB to clear it.

However on lower bow weight, as per my wife's King Cobra, it seems to work fine.
